Can't open Skype recordings with latest update

Post by wvanfleet » Sat Nov 30, 2019 8:34 pm

I have always used Audacity to edit the soundtrack of my recorded Skype sessions. Today I updated the current version of Audacity, and it will no longer let me open a recorded Skype conversation. It says: “This version of Audacity was not compiled with QuickTime files support.” So now I can’t use Audacity anymore to work on the audio of Skype sessions?? Am I in real trouble? Can I go back to the earlier version? (I don't remember what version it was. The current version is 2.3.0. I think the previous version was 2.1.something.) I'm worried, and not very knowledgeable. Any help will be appreciated.
