You have a sound card with a Mic-In and a Line-In. Very low level for use with a microphone and much higher level from, say, the playback from a DVD player or iPod.

It's normal for cheaper sound cards to leave out the +20dB mic boost, but Blasters usually have it included in the Windows Setup Panels.

In older Windows, it's click on the little speaker icon and navigate to the recording panels. Options > Properties > Recording > Advanced. YMMV.

All this is assuming you installed the Blaster drivers and software.

Windows drivers may not give you the microphone boost option. Boost arrives with the manufacturer of the card and the software drivers. You need to see if you can find the right drivers for your card model number.
