Mojave 10.14.4 Released

Post by Rontro809 » Wed Apr 03, 2019 7:40 pm

I remember reading that some folks were having trouble with Audacity and the Beta of MacOs Mojave 10.14.4. I see that Apple has released that version now and wanted to hear if anyone has installed it and if Audacity 2.3.1 is working okay? I like to wait a bit after a new release to see the fallout.

Thank-You!

Audacity 2.3.1 is a fully qualified 64-bit application and shouldn't have any more trouble than any other normal Mac app.

There has been some serious trouble between iTunes, AAC/M4A, Audacity and FFMpeg.

You broke the format! No, you! Not my problem!!

"789:57:13" is iTunes-speak for Something Is Wrong.

That seems to be iTunes changing a file to 789 hours, but it's actually an iTunes failure code.

I just installed 10.14.4 and AFAICT Audacity 2.3.1 (64-bit) runs just fine - even the older 32-bit versions of Audacity seem to run OK on 10.14.4

That's good to know. I still have older, valuable 32-bit apps.

And for now SimpleSynth the app that we recommend for getting MIDI playback in Audacity on Mac still works OK - but it is a 32-bit app.

Thank you for all of the replies. I seldom work with AAC/M4A. I use Mp3 and Wav. A carry-over from my Windows days.

Best Regards,
