Someday, can you add explicitly different default locations for each of the following functions to "
Preferences => Directories"?
Also, can Audacity save in Cache the most recent locations explicitly as well? Right now, when I click "Import", I have to navigate to the input directory and then when I click "Export", I have to navigate to the export directory. If I forget, the exports get written in the import directory and ... if they have the same name ... I lose my Import file!!!
I've been careful for years but this would be so convenient ... thanks!

Audacity 2.2.0
2.2.0 is a
very dangerous release with a very nasty bug that can cause complete project loss when using "Save As".
You really should upgrade to 2.3.1 as soon as possible:

Good to know ... upgraded! Is there an option in preferences which checks for new releases?

There's just "Help menu > Check for updates" which will open the download page of the Audacity website so that you can see the current version number.
Alternatively you could follow Audacity on facebook or twitter so that you will be notified when a release announcement is posted (links at top of page).
