Synchronizing External Machines

Post by mrthnmn » Mon Feb 25, 2019 7:25 pm

Looking around the Audacity documentation and forums it looks like there's no way to sync an external machine, like a drum machine or synthesizer, to an Audacity project. Is that accurate? There's no way to get a time code or tempo via MIDI or USB?

TIA,
Bruce

Audacity does not yet support time code.

I assume that you would like it to, so I'll move this post to the "adding features" section in case anyone else wants to comment / add their support for this feature.

Okay. Thanks Steve. That would be great. That feature would be very useful to me.

The digital audio workstation "Ardour" has this feature, though it is rather more complex than Audacity.
