Setting the output volume on tracks
I am using 2.1.2 with Linux mint
I have 900 or so songs from different sources that play off of a USB stick in the car. The problem is some of them are really loud and some are very soft. I am constantly changing the volume on the radio. I have been editing them as best I can with the adjust it with the slider to the left of the track, I can also double click to set a value. The problem is that this value is reliant on the selected track and not the same on all tracks imported. I wish to be able to set all tracks imported to the same volume output. Is this possible.
Thank You in advance, Dan

Re: Setting the output volume on tracks
OK thank you, just what I was looking for, but I spent an hour looking for the download and cannot find it. I found all the information on how to use it and how to download it but I cannot find the file to download. Maybe it is just too early in the morning and I only had one cup of Java. I found the page with all the Nyquist downloads and it was not there.

It's the link in giant letters (at the bottom of the post) that says "NEW VERSION" viewtopic.php?p=167758#p167758

OK I found it but it will not let me copy it to the plug-in folder. I am logged in as normal with my password.

Try the "per user" installation as described here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/ins ... st_install

Re: Setting the output volume on tracks
OK I have it working now Thank You. I am hoping to find a way to put it on the bar so I do not have to go to the menu each time.
Thanks for taking the time to help

Re: Setting the output volume on tracks
You can't do that, but you can create a keyboard shortcut. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/key ... ences.htmlSkipperdan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 5:01 pmI am hoping to find a way to put it on the bar so I do not have to go to the menu each time.

It may be possible to automatically batch-process your songs using Audacity's new "Macro" feature ...Skipperdan wrote: ↑Sat Dec 08, 2018 5:04 pmI have 900 or so songs from different sources ... I wish to be able to set all tracks imported to the same volume output.

I've not tried that myself though.
Update: I just tried macro in Audacity 2.3.0 , it is possible to batch-process all the files in a folder/directory.
900 is going to take some time though, probably several days on one computer.
