How To Clean Up This Song?

Hello, All:

I've got this song, which seems poorly recorded (possibly a demo, I don't know... ).

Anyway, I've tried different processes, such as Bass Boost, then Compressor and Leveller. While it helps clean up the sound somewhat, It's not exactly how I want it.

I realize I may not be able to make it sound like a David Foster production, and I don't really want it to. But I'd like to increase the sibilance, while adding more bass. The Bass Boost-ing has been a bit of a crapshoot: I play around with the settings, but I still can't find the right standard.

Trivia (In Case You Care To Know): S.A. Slayer were a Thrash Metal band out of San Antonio, Texas in the early 80s. But they had to amend their name when that OTHER Slayer became famous.

It's in better quality than I thought it was going to be, but it does have one very serious problem. The left and right channels are out of phase. That will kick the bass notes in the knees right away, on top of sounding hollow and weird.

Split the left and right, invert the right channel Effect > Utility > Invert....maybe... and then recombine them into one stereo performance. Now when you boost the bass, it will actually go up.

The rest of the equalizer settings, yes, are a crap shoot. Hint: find a very short representative sample of the work and experiment with that instead of all three minutes. You don't want to die an old man waiting for Audacity to apply the filter.
