Can't hear audio from file

I can't hear a particular file even though it displays waves to indicate content.

My computer plays other files OK and the speakers are fine.

The needle is moving very slowly also, which is strange.

You said your computer plays other files just fine, but you didn't specifically say that Audacity plays sounds just fine. Is that true? I'm guessing it is.

What kind of a file is this that you're importing? The 'needle' will move slowly if you're zoomed out a lot. What kind of scale are you zoomed out to?
