Possible FIX for what Microsoft Breaks in Win 10 (Behringer UFO202)

After current Windows 10 upgrade I found (like many others) that the USB LINE IN not longer available to my Behringer UFO202 and possibly other USB devices that rely on line-in input.... Also currently using Audacity 2.2.2.

And no matter what I tried to do using USB device, no success, "line in" shown in above graphic was just not there... Thank you Microsoft for killing a working driver...

I resorted to dialing back driver to what I believe is Win 7 driver for Behringer USB device (UFO202)...

Downloaded the older Behringer driver version 2.8.40 and installed and gee whiz, the line in USB option was back when I plugged in USB device....

Don't know if this is solution for other USB sound device(s) that use line-in, but it works for me..... People with other devices may try reloading earlier driver that is device dependent for their specific device....

Also found the checking box in line in properties helped with play through... Your results may vary...

Not guarantee but this concept may help you solve your problem by not just thrashing around frustrated....

Yes I did... Spent about 4 hours chasing this problem.... Not much seemed to help..... By using older driver seems to repair (replace) the broken driver MS supplied.... There seems to be at least 6-8 "fixes" out there and nothing worked to get USB "line in" input to work.... This may be specific to Behringer product(s), but the problem seems to be with Microsoft driver....

After trying multiple fixes and nothing worked... When I resorted to Behringer specific driver (abandoning latest microsoft driver), I finally have the USB "line In" appearing as a selection in Audacity input dropdown....And it actually works and I can get sound...

It's good to hear you solved the problem, but the Behringer doesn't supply a driver (for regular Windows applications). It's supposed to work with the Microsoft Supplied drivers.

...Behringer offers the 3rd-party ASIO4ALL driver for ASIO applications, but Audacity is not an ASIO application.
