Not being a techie I'm trying to find the simplest video recorder set-up with excellent playback in order to clearly distinguish a Swedish narrator's word and tonal emphasis in a Swedish film's subtitles, so could anyone recommend a good one from their own experience....?
Thanks

VLC is good. It's free (open source), it works on Windows, Mac and Linux, and it supports a huge range of file formats.
