Convert .aup to .aup3
Thanks you so much for Audacity! It's great program. And, version 3.0.0 seems cute.
I suppose this only my problem... But, may be anybody will help me here... I've more .aup projects, which can't be opened in newest Audacity version (because it uses .aup3 format). Can I convert .aup to .aup3? If not, then OK - I'll revert to Audacity 2.x.x and deal with my projects perfectly. I just want ask you (developers of Audacity): "Are there ways to convert .aup to .aup3 without much time consuming?".
Thanks you.

Re: Convert .aup to .aup3
Audacity 3.0.0 is in early alpha stage of development. It should NOT be used for production work.
The ability to read AUP projects will be added before release, but the code for that hasn't been written yet.

Re: Convert .aup to .aup3
As Steve says ...
and be aware that as the development project progesses the nature of the aup3 files is subject ti change abd that means that earlier created .aup3 projects cannot be opened in later alpha versions of 3.0.0.
This has occurred at least twice now recently and is quite likely to do so agian in the future until the developers finalize the design of the database schema.

Re: Convert .aup to .aup3
Is there a download link to the 3.0.0 alpha version so we can mess around with it?
Re: Convert .aup to .aup3
Only the source code at the moment: https://github.com/audacity/audacity
Binaries (executables) will be made available later in the release cycle.

Re: Convert .aup to .aup3
Hi Steve,
Not trying to nag, but is there any update on the alpha executables or a release date for 3.0?
Thanks
Mike

Re: Convert .aup to .aup3
Very provisional release date is November, but this depends on the satisfactory fixing of all serious bugs and no new problems.
This release cycle was always expected to be a long one as AUP3 is a very substantial change.

Thanks!
Re: Convert .aup to .aup3
Hi Steve, just checking on a status update of Ver 3.0 and also maybe an executable alpha version? Thanks.
Re: Convert .aup to .aup3
As you've probably guessed, there were some problems, and then we hit Christmas. Work has resumed and good progress has been made. All known "P1" bugs are now fixed, though work continues on other important issues. I don't yet have a revised release date - my guess would be some time in February, but take that with a large pinch of salt
