I was facing problem when audacity suddenly hang and can’t even been shut down. Need to use end task to kill it.
Tried reinstall and the problem was still there. I found out the same problem using another pc and I’d figure out that cause.
When my input language is in Chinese, audacity will freeze suddenly and can’t do nothing.

A workaround is listed in the comments of that issue:
This problem can be solved by turning on the compatibility option of the IME on Windows 10.
