Bug TAB & Shift-Tab key no longer navigates labels

Audacity 3.0.5 supports moving from label to label via TAB and Alt-TAB. Why does this no longer work in Audacity 3.1.3 ?

While ALT-Left and ALT-Right move the Cursor to the next Label, they don’t allow you to quickly and directly enter text into that Label…

It’s a bug: https://github.com/audacity/audacity/issues/2079

You have to hit Ctrl+F2 to edit the label in 3.1.x. It’s documented as hardcoded shortcut in the 3.1 release notes. So the sequence is tab then Ctrl+F2, which arguably is more typing than before. The “tab” binding was not entirely removed, it just won’t go into edit mode. It now does the same as “Alt-right”.

Alternatively, you can use the “Labels > Edit Labels…” spreadsheet, but there you also have to press F2 to edit the label, although you can overwrite it if you just start typing over it. Press Enter to save and move (down) to the next one. Tab moves right in that table.
