Where are all the plug-ins ?

I went to my old version of Audacity and noticed that when I open the effects menu few of the effects were there. I enabled all the plug-ins but they do not show in the effect menu. Then I uninstalled my version and down loaded the latest version but the same thing happens.

The latest version of Audacity for Windows is available in 32 & 64 bit ā€¦

You need the 32-bit version if you want to use old 32-bit plugins

Thanks but I down loaded the 32 bit version and I still donā€™t have plug in appear under Effects .

You have to enable the plugins before they appear on the effects list ā€¦
https ://manual.audacityteam.org/man/manage_effects_generators_and_analyzers.html

If you updated from a very old version of Audacity, note the plugins are now to be placed in a different folder ā€¦

Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\audacity\Plug-Ins

Could we have all plug-ins installed with audacity made available by default, please?

It simply states [enable them] on https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/classic_filters.html with no obvious explanation as to why they are initially disabled.

On a clean installation of Audacity, the following effects and plug-ins are enabled by default:

It is possible that this can get messed up if more that one version of Audacity is installed at a time.

ā€œClassic Filtersā€ and ā€œMeasure RMSā€ are shipped with Audacity but are disabled by default.

  • Measure RMS is included as an example for anyone looking to develop their own Nyquist plug-ins.
  • Classic Filters is potentially useful for users that have substantial knowledge about IIR filters, but is potentially confusing for the majority of users.
