32 bit float or 16 bit PCM

I searched in this forum but found no answer to my questions.
I have to digitize media (“cassette”, " that contain voices, they are conference recordings.
I use Audacity but my problem is this:

it is better to digitize at 32 bit float and then export/save the file WAV 16 bit PCM;
Or is better to digitize directly at 16 bit PCM and save at 16 bit PCM?

If I digitize 32 bit float but save the file 16 bit PCM, do i have a loss of information?

I chose the sampling rate of 44100 Hz because it is more than enough since they are recordings of conference (voices of people)

Thank you

Yes.

44100 is also compatible with just about everything, so it’s generally a good choice.
