The problems with import crashes and files not opening should now be solved and so will be fixed in the next 2.0.5 release in a couple of weeks or so. If you need the fixes now, please download http://www.audacity.homerow.net/cgi-bin ... -2.0.5.zip .

Hello Gale.
Thanx for your answer
I'm sorry for the disturbance, first I did a mistake, second you told that you didn't speak french so i tried to explain my problem again but this time in english.
I tried this one: http://gaclrecords.org.uk/test-builds/a ... -2.0.5.zip
and, oh, what a good surprise it launched without a crash!!!
Thank you very much
Now i have to go ahead in using the soft to see if all works good.
I will stay you in touch.

Thank you for writing in English. Actually you posted your complaint again three times after both your posts had already been replied to. ;)

Here is a tip. Make sure at the bottom of your topic that you are subscribed to that topic. Then the Forum will e-mail you as soon as anyone replies to the topic.

Thank you for testing. Please note in that "r12571 plus" version you will not be able to open projects by double-clicking AUP files, or to open files with Finder "Open with" or to drag files to the Audacity icon. Open files with the Audacity menus instead. This is already fixed, but the plug-in load problem that is fixed in "r12571 plus" is not committed to our code yet.

If you need to open files as in the above paragraph, here is what to do. Start the "r12571 plus" version, open Audacity > Preferences, choose Effects, then uncheck "Audio Unit" under "Enable Effects" and click OK. Then you can run http://www.audacity.homerow.net/cgi-bin ... -2.0.5.zip instead.

Pour Nox, normalement la version 2,0,3 marche sans encombres sur le mac. j'ai la version Mountain Lion 10.8.5 mais ça fonctionne sans problèmes. Sur Lion également, je n'avais pas de soucis. ???

If you use this http://www.audacity.homerow.net/cgi-bin ... -2.0.5.zip all the issues should be fixed.

Hi Gale,

I'll write in English so you may understand more easily.

OSX 10.8.5
Audacity 2.0.4 and 2.0.5a
Variaty of workstations (2013 and 2012 iMac)
All are using French OS

I re-installed the application and got everything to work on multiple machines. Tested logout and login and it worked fine. The following day Audacity began to experience the exact same issues where Audacity either crashes or won't open files. I've followed all recommendations including removing any non alpha numeric characters.

Suddenly after downloading the attachment in the link above but not installing , not logging out, not restarting , I am now able to open mp3 and WAV files using the right click only. This is only working on one machine for the moment. The users and the manager are getting fed up and to be honest so am I. We need to isolate this quickly. Is there anything that I can do to help troubleshoot? I can send crash report or any other logs that you may require.

At this time I'm not sure if I should try and get it working on the other 4 workstations, since I didn't even do anything to resolve the issue.

Audacity 2.0.5 is due for release in a matter of days. It will probably be worth waiting for that release before updating any of your machines.

If you wished to be notified by e-mail when 2.0.5 is released, you can register at the bottom of the Audacity home page: http://audacityteam.org/

I suggest you try the 2.0.5rc1 release candidate from http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 42#p225742 . If there are no major reported problems with it, that build will become the 2.0.5 release. Install it on one machine and test it. If it works it should be OK to install it on all machines.

We don't need any crash reports from 2.0.4 or older 2.0.5-alpha.

Thanks

Gale
