Typo on PT-BR and PT-PT Translations

Post by rafadess » Sun Feb 28, 2021 4:38 pm

Hello,

It is a very minor thing... but just want to you guys know.

It looks like there is a typo on PT-BR translation. On Prefereces > Quality > Sampling > Default Sample Format > 320bit float option. It is writeen "flut" instead of "float".

The portuguese translation for "float" would be "flutuante" which for me, as a programmer, sounds very weird... So "float" would be good enough.
In any case, "flut" looks a typo for me.

Thanks!

Rafa

Perhaps it's a dialect thing peculiar to Brazil (?)

Hunnn, here on Brazil I've never seen "flut" as a translation for "float". I've seen "ponto-flutuante", which I don't like....

I think I'm debating on translating terms... never mind.

Thank you,
Rafa.

No need to debate here. If you are a native of Brazil you could contact the translators directly via their mailing list: https://sourceforge.net/projects/audaci ... ranslation

As I don't know if you are a native of Brazil, and I don't speak any dialect of Portuguese, I'm not going to try telling the translators that they are wrong, but feel free to do so yourself :)

steve,

I was writing to the translator maillist when I realised, "flut" is actualy the abbreviation for "flutuante"....
And it might be this translation is there for a while. I checked 2.4.2 and it is flut too. So never mind, It was just me being picky with translation.
As I don't know if you are a native of Brazil,
I am. :D
