Audacity Effects can't enable DeEsser

I installed Waves DeBreather into Audacity PlugIns a couple weeks ago and it enabled in Audacity with no problem and works fine. But I tried the same thing with Waves DeEsser later and when I try to enable it, Audacity says that it can’t register the program. I notice that the two programs have different extensions, even though I put them both in Audacity Plugins and I wonder if that is where the problem lies. The DeBreather is C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugIns\WaveShell1-VST10.0dll12691789 and the DeEsser is C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins\DeEsser.bundle\Contents\Win32\DeEsser.dll and there is another one for Win64. Shouldn’t they have the same extensions except for their names? Anyway, please help. Thx!

VST Plugins are often available in two varieties : 32-bit & 64-bit.
Currently Audacity only accepts 32-bit plugins, even if you have a 64-bit operating system.

Then why doesn’t Audacity enable (“register”) the DeEsser Win 32 plugin? Thx

Several of the Waves VST effects are incompatible with Audacity.
