Recorded with two mics & mixing doesn;t seem to work sufficiently

It might be a very stupid question, or rather I am hoping for a very easy answer.
I have recorded a Podcast with two mics, connected to the laptop via a Behringer U-PHORIA UMC202HD audio-interface.
However when I export the track, even when I mix & render them I keep on hearing one of the mics in my left ear and the other one in my right. There must be a fix for this that I am just missing, right?

If you want to hear both mics in both ears, split the track to two mono tracks before you export. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/splitting_and_joining_stereo_tracks.html
