Removing static noise

Hello All,

I have recorded a short fragment of speech and was able to polish it up with Audacity basic tools (noise reduction, high frequency filtering, compression, etc). However, the strange static noise remained in a few places. I attached the sample:

Is it possible to somehow smooth this part out?

Cheers,
Chris

I can’t hear any static noise. IMO the outstanding problem is blowing on the microphone: a/k/a popping the “P”.
Audacity’s spectral-editing can reduce the plosive thud, (see attached), but better to prevent it in the first place with a pop-shield.

Thank you, Trebor, this is what I needed!
