Voice Test Feedback - Where to start fixing

Post by exwilson » Thu Mar 04, 2021 2:08 pm

Hi All,

Upon reviewing other posts, I followed the suggestion to create a voice test file and submit for feedback. I have no idea where to even start. It seems like everything I do ends up making the ambient background noise worse without doing anything to clarify the voice.

Windows 10
Audacity 2.4.2
Mic: Hayner Seek USB Mic

My buddy records using the same mic directly into audacity and sounds a TON better right from the jump. Any advice is helpful. The forums are...byzantine.

Buddy is not in the same room. No mic or processing will remove the reverberation from the room.

Did you ever build a blanket-fort ?, (special HEAVY-duty blankets are required).

Got cushions ? ... https://youtu.be/5Se381sERrY?t=60

Thanks. That's actually good to hear. It's easier for me to change the room than to play around with settings.
