Accidently Played Music over Interviewee, What can I Do?

Hey guys! I just recorded an interview for my podcast and I royally screwed up, I am not too sure how I can fix it hence me asking you guys! I was just wondering if there was any way for me to remove the music without messing up the person voice, thanks!

No. Not if the music and voice are mixed in the same track. You picked one of the non-recoverable errors.

Rescue One. Redo the interview.

Rescue Two. The Hollywood version of the rescue is write down the words and have an actor read them in perfect, studio conditions. Ideally, you use the same person, but you can also use a different person who sounds the same.

Use that voice instead of the bad voice.

There is a Home Rescue. Produce a new, inverted music track. Effect > Invert. Mix that with the bad track such that the music cancels out. You have to hit the timing and volume exact for it to sound right and what normally happens is you get a Close But No Cigar cancellation. This rescue appears wonderful, but never actually works.

Let us know what you tried.
