I need help, i’m new to using audacity and i saved a project file as .aup and the data file_s in the same folder. When i open it to start editing, it shows file is open on the top but nothing on the screen. What could be the problem? Audio file for a podcast_
That’s a Project. You can put those two anywhere you like, but you can’t put the AUP inside the_DATA folder. You also have to stay away from certain of the system folders or Audacity will not be able to reach them.
Stay away from punctuation marks inside filenames. Today is 2019-07-06. -Dash- and underscore are mostly OK.
You also can’t change the names outside of Audacity. If you can’t remember what the original names were, you can open the AUP file in a text editor (don’t save anything) and read it.
