am currently using a behringer mixer with usb out but looking at one of these.
Anyone have any comments about how well it works with Audacity?

You can have serious problems with fancy-pants interfaces because many of them get their performance by way of ASIO software and drivers. Audacity doesn’t directly support ASIO. The complaint is always that the owner can’t get multiple channel, low latency performance and that they loaded the ASIO drivers as it said in the instructions.
That’s nice for the other paid software packages, but Audacity isn’t one of those. You can compile a personal, custom Audacity to accept ASIO software, but this is best left to people who have compiled software programs before. This should not be number one.
