Removing Samples By Using Samples

Post by RZATheTapeKiller » Sun Jul 15, 2018 11:07 am

Hi I'm quite new to audacity. In Icecube's Death Certificate the sample for the "chorus" is unneeded, so I decided to hop on to audacity and see if I could extract an acapella from it, however as with most of the songs finding the instrumental was virtually impossible. In conclusion, I was wondering if it possible to remove the "chorus" of this song by using the original sample used for it.

Thanks, M :?:

Probably not.

There are tools that can work quite well for removing a lead vocal provided that the vocal is panned dead centre and does not have strong stereo effect added (See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tut ... ation.html). However, many modern recordings have huge amounts of effects added that make separation virtually impossible.
