World Language use of Audacity?

We currently use Sanako system to allow interpersonal conversations between students in our lab. Does Audacity have the capability to "pair" up students and allow them to have a conversation? Or does anyone know of any other system or app that could be used on desktop computers or Ipads that will allow this capability? Thanks for your thoughts. Just not feeling excited about spending $40,000 on updating our current system. :o

Audacity can't interact with other instances of Audacity. You would require some sort of switching audio device or multi-channel recording interface for each pair of students, where that device was connected to one computer running Audacity.
