Extra audio out for VIDEO sync with xjadeo
Re: Extra audio out for VIDEO sync with xjadeo
Personally I do not need multichannel playback. I know though that multichannel playback would solve my needs for SMPTE sync. I didn't want to open a request for multichannel playback since that request has already been discussed. It's a different way to address why multichannel support is useful for routing purposes even in stereo setups.

Lest we think SMPTE editing is a gift from the angels, remember it's only good for frame-by-frame editing. Accurate to the nearest 1/24 second in Europe. There's no shortage of video editors who would kill to be able to edit between video frames.

It's not video editing, it's audio-for-video editing. The SMPTE is only used to run video in sync while running back and forth in on the timeline. Audio can definitely be moved between frames in Audacity.kozikowski wrote:Lest we think SMPTE editing is a gift from the angels, remember it's only good for frame-by-frame editing. Audio editing in video editors is quite limited compared to audio editing in a DAW, no question.

I think it is clearest (and prompts the developers more) to count this as another vote for multi-channel playback. We can note that another of its benefits is that it could provide an extra audio output for timecode sync.Adaerus wrote:Personally I do not need multichannel playback.
