Shortcuts for tools [SOLVED]

Shortcuts for tools [SOLVED]

Hello,

I would appreaciate single-letter shortcuts for the tools like the selection tool and the zoom tool. They could be mentioned in their tooltip: "Selection tool (S)". What about S for the selection tool and Z (replacing another shortcut?) for the zoom tool?

There is nothing stopping you changing the bindings in Keyboard Preferences.

Users of labels would I suspect expect to be able to change tool while typing in labels.

I quite like the idea of showing shortcuts in toolbar tooltips but one of the developers does not, preferring help buttons.

So the experiment with showing shortcuts in tooltips for Transport Toolbar has not been extended.

Sorry, I just couldn't find the option to change the tool in the menus.

Do you mean he prefers context-sensitive help--first clicking a help button, then the GUI element help is wanted for? I couldn't find a help button either.

Yes that is his idea, and we don't yet have context-sensitive help buttons.
