Only if you read the "release notes".
All releases of Audacity include the "release note" document, and it is available on-line here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.0.6
On Windows, because it has an installer, the release notes are available to read from the installer (before the actual installation). As the Mac version does not have an installer, I guess that you would have to open the release notes document yourself (but I don't use Mac so I don't know for sure how it works on that platform).
There is also a link in the menu bar on the download page (http://audacityteam.org/download/ left side of the page).
There are links in several other places on the Audacity web site, including the home page: http://audacityteam.org/

I admittedly didn't look at the release notes.

In my professional opinion, though, "the current stable release of the app is not supported on the current stable release of the OS" is a black-box warning, and deserves to be promoted right up next to the download link.

Here; let me go read those now. :-)

Audacity 2.0.6 was released before Yosemite was released (at least it was in this part of the world).

I'd say +1 for Baylink!!
Same problem appears when you try to add a new point when using Equalization effect. Mouse click does create a new point, but also changes the curve, which is ridiculous :) This made me almost stop using Equalization...

We'll add your vote for some way to add a control point without moving it.

But I don't think it's "ridiculous" how it is now. ;)

I don't think it's "ridiculous".

I *do* think it violates the Principle of Least Astonishment, though, and with insufficient cause.

"Add a control point to a curve" is a longstanding user task in GUI apps which deal with such curves. I do not recall any other one permitting you to add such a control point unless you are *pointed at a spot on the curve in question*. I'm perfectly happy to be wrong, but I certainly don't remember ever running across it.

Just trying to think of what other programs I have that use "control points".
The only one that comes to mind is Gimp (an advanced paint program similar to Photoshop).
...
... a short while later ...

Yes, I thought so - Gimp has a "Curves" tool for adjusting the colour levels.

Like Audacity, you just click and drag.
I expect that Photoshop does the same.

You can click *off of the curve*, and it creates a *new* control point?
