Move a label and audio

Post by steve » Tue Nov 06, 2012 2:01 pm

There is already a feature request for:
Moving a label moves the audio: (2 votes)
and it is already possible to move a label and audio (either by selection both the audio track and the label track, or by enabling Sync Lock.

What I would like to be able to do, and can't find any way of doing, is to move one selected label and selected audio in the same selected region without moving other labels or audio clips.

A simple example - I want to get from here:
trackpanel000.png
trackpanel000.png (12.1 KiB) Viewed 3219 times
To here:
trackpanel001.png
trackpanel001.png (12.28 KiB) Viewed 3219 times
It would seem to be a simple operation to just drag both the label and the audio together, but I can't find any way to do it.

My "real world" use case was that I had a dozen (similar length) labelled audio clips. I wanted to rearrange the audio clips and their corresponding labels into a different order.

It would have been dead easy if I could have moved the audio clip and its label together, but instead, the only way that I could do it was to individually move the label and the audio separately and carefully line them up without losing track of which label belonged to which audio clip.

@Steve, once again I think a Proposal will be the better way forward here rather than a simple transfer to Wiki>Pending Feature Request

I was hoping that there might be some discussion about this.

It appears to be relevant to issues like this:

Yes please. I don't really have time to develop this as a wiki proposal at the moment, but I think it would be a very useful feature.
