I don't think that's possible.

I also can't think of any reason to want that feature.

The reason is that I would like to record a Internet Radio program starting in the middle of night.
I am able to schedule Audacity to be launched at a certain time (Windows Xp utility) , but I have no way to tell Audacity to start recording !

Bye

If I remember rightly, there was a post on the old board (all postings now unfortunately lost) that explained how to get Audacity to start recording at a particular time and also stop recording at the required end-time.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the instructions for this - maybe somebody else can? Or maybe the original respondent will read this and repost?

Update 10Aug: I've just noticed from a post on the 1.3 section of the forum that apparently a timer record function was introduced in 1.3.x - you may wish to upload 1.3 and try that - you have both 1.2 and 1.3 on the same PC with no problems. I tend to use 1.3 all the time now anyway as I find it stable enough for my needs.

Thanks for the update.
Timer record is exactly the feature I need.

I think the only way to do that is to set the Audacity timer feature to start about a minute after the machine boots.

You can leave the machine operating all the time and use Sound Activated Recording. Audacity will only record when there is noise, music, or voice.
