I mean the strip where you have the time of the recording... what is this new awful behavior of the clicks? I get backwards playback or it keeps choosing a range.
WHY did you make it so delicate to operate?
WTF have you done with the strip above timeline?

I'm guessing that you are referring to the "Scrubbing" bar (http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/scru ... #scrubbing).
You can disable the scrubbing bar in "Transport menu > Scrubbing > Scrub ruler".
