Using Mac 10.12.6 and Audacity 2.1.3. The Export Audio Square indicates the File Type is: WAV (Microsoft) signed 16bit PCM; however
the item appearing on the Desktop is an icon, not square and with a corner folded down and will not open. Previous exporting yesterday
resulting in the standard square icon with the musical notes. How can I correct this?
Data in Export Audio different from Desktop

You may need to tell your Mac what software should open the "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16bit PCM" file-type ... https://www.imore.com/how-set-mac-app-d ... ening-file

Thanks for your reply. I believe you do not understand my problem. I'm trying to Export Audio to the Desktop so I can move the file to iTunes.
Wav shows up in the export box, yet does not show up as WAV on the Desktop. Whatever it is, it will not transfer to iTunes. This process worked
successfully day before yesterday, but not yesterday or today.
