hi- I find that using the audio AMPLIFY tool in audacity is a godsend for synchronizing
the peak outputs of my music files before downloading them to my smart phone.
No more fiddling about with the volume control either--mick the fish

You might find that Chris's Compressor can do a good job, too. Chris designed his volume manager so he could listen to opera in the car. He got tired of cranking the volume back and forth when the performance went between tutti orchestra and one lone violin in the south forty.

As far as I know, it only has one problem. You have to have
some sound in the first second.
Enjoy.
