Nyquist Replaygain effect

Post by BBA43 » Thu Nov 10, 2016 4:38 pm

The Replaygain effect seems very effective.

However when using the new "Normalize" option, the duration of all the resulting tracks is set to the duration of the longest one. I'm speaking of the duration info shown in the Finder or in Toast. The actual duration is nonetheless correct.

Am I doing something wrong ?

Thanks

Unfortunately, due to the way that "Nyquist" is implemented in Audacity, Nyquist sees no difference between "selected empty space" and "selected silent audio". Therefore, if you apply the effect a selection that includes empty space, then Nyquist will treat that empty space as if it is silence.

If I recall correctly, the notes in the forum topic that accompanies this plug-in do mention this limitation and explain that if you have multiple tracks of different lengths, then you need to select and process them one at a time so that only the audio (and no trailing empty space) is selected.
