Opening files in the same window.

Hi there. I see from the Wiki that files that are opened when a blank score exists will open in that window, but any new files that open create a new window. Is there a preference somewhere where I can toggle this the other way, so that all files I open will open in the same window instead? So if I'm looking for a particular tune, and I have some 30 recordings to browse through, I don't have to close each one each time I do this? That would be awfully convenient. Thanks!
Wiki wrote:If an empty project window exists, that window will be used for the first project or imported file. Any subsequent opened projects or audio files will create new project windows.

The rationale is a bit cryptic, but it goes like this:
The "Save" and "Open" commands refer to Audacity's native "project" format (the .AUP file and "_data" folder).
When you "open" an ordinary audio file, you are actually "opening" a new project and importing the selected file into it.

For ordinary audio files (WAV, MP3 etc):
files are "imported" into the project or exported from the project.
You can import multiple files into the same project and they will appear as tracks one below another.
"File menu > Import > Audio"
(If there are multiple audio files in the same folder, you can select one, several or all of them at the same time.)
