Let's see if I understand their explanation...
You're no longer a SF project if you're not hosting your website with them, so they are moving your project to a mirror site?
My limited brain translates this as "we changed the status on a number of projects and we have no idea why, really..."
Probably just some rumblings at the corporate headquarters

Audacity had a 15 year history with SF and during that time SF have hosted the Audacity website. Through years of hard work in developing Audacity and contributions in many forms from countless individuals, the program has become extremely popular, attracting many millions of visitors to the website each year.
Last week, SF, for whatever reason, decided to take down the Audacity web site
without notice and replace it with their own web page. They are currently serving around 45,000 downloads per day of the Audacity software from the old Audacity web address and they receive 100% of the advertising revenue from that web address. As this was done without notice, we are not able to offer an explanation about the motives of SF in taking this action.
As previously stated, we now have a new web address which is:
http://web.audacityteam.org/ This is the official Audacity website.
There is also a shortened version of the address "
http://audacityteam.org/", which is a "redirect" to
http://web.audacityteam.org/.
