Someone has sent me a small recording as an attachment to an email a long with a password so that I use this password to listen this recording.
When I use Audacity I have to go to Import and I have to use ‘Raw material’ to import this recording.
When this recording has been imported into Audacity what appears is a recording with no gaps between the wave. All is blue. The upper and the lower is blue dark and the middle is blue clear.
When I try to listen this recording using Audacity there is a big background noise and the recording runs very quickly. Hence it is impossible to listen anything of this recording using Audacity.
This could be due to the fact that it is necessary to use a password to listen this recording. However I do not know how to use the password which has been provided to me with Audacity
I have also downloaded FFmep but I do not know if this makes a difference. However I do not know how to open FFmep

Re: To use Audacity with a password protected recording
Close Audacity. Audacity has no de-encrypting tools. You should find the application required to listen to the show and install that. Once Windows can play the show and you can hear it, run Audacity so it can record "audio playing on the computer."

Not all computers do this well and there's no fixed standard, so it depends on your computer, sound card and associated software.

How sure are you that you weren't given a link and you're supposed to listen to the show on-line? If that's the case, then we're back to setting Audacity to record on-line audio.
