Importing multitrack recording from Digital recorder

I use the Boss BR-80 multi-track recorder, and I'd like to know if Audacity allows you to import a multi-track recording in order to do further editing/mixing, adding effects, etc. within Audacity. Is this possible?

It depends what format the recorded files are in. I would suggest you add the optional FFmpeg library to your computer which will greatly expand the file formats that Audacity can import and export.

Please see here for how to install FFmpeg:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... tml#ffdown .

Please see here for the file formats supported if you install FFmpeg from the above link:
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/FFmpe ... ctionality .

If you want to export as a multi-channel file, you'll need to open the Import / Export Preferences then select the option "Use custom mix".
