Audacity For Windows Mobile?

I have been wanting to use audacity on a smaller touchscreen device for years...i have recently purchased a surface rt...unfortunately it only runs applications available in the app store...and i could not afford to get the much more expensive surface pro that runs windows apps....what would it take to get audacity in the windows app store?????

We have no current plans (or resources) to develop a WinRT version of Audacity. This would be required to run on Windows RT (the ARM-based version of Windows that the Surface RT uses).

Also WinRT applications (even those written for x86 Desktop versions of Windows as found on laptops and desktops) have to go in the Windows Store. However the Windows Store is (probably) incompatible with our General Public License.

If you are really keen on Audacity for Windows RT I suggest you visit:

and search for "audacity emulator" (without quotes) and take it from there. None of those developments are anything to do with Audacity Team or Microsoft and you are wholly responsible for the consequences of any actions you take.

The above has no connection with the Windows Mobile or Windows Phone operating systems, even though the latter's applications share some characteristics with "modern" WinRT apps.
