Isolating multiple voices

I made an interview recording via Skype & Pamela. Somehow the file saved as a .wmv file. I converted the file to mp3 but I would really like to be able to isolate the different speakers into different tracks. Is this possible?

The reason we recommend Pamela is her ability to record the two sides of a Skype conversation clearly on two separate tracks. Even though this is paid software, it's usually worth it because once you smash your voices together, you can't pull them apart again.

Are the two voices separate in the Windows Media file? Did you make the MP3 as a mono file by accident? I see Pamela has the ability to export in MP3, Windows Media, WAV or OGG. Did you just pick the wrong one?

I can't get an instruction book as a download, so you'll have to help out. I recommend the two highest Pamela versions. Do the two lower versions record voices on separate tracks?

I posted a question on the Pamela web site. It never occurred to me that some versions may not have split recording -- or you could turn it off. I see in what information there is that they have the ability to post a conversation directly to a podcast and that wouldn't work if the channels were split.

You still can't split up two voices from one track.

The Skype conversation started as a video file but I had stopped the video a few seconds in and went completely audio with the call. It never occurred to me that it was recording as a windows movie file. I wasn't even aware That Pamela recorded movie files. No mp3 recorded.
I don't know if the two voices are separate in the movie file.
I then downloaded a freeware converter online and converted it to mp3 and maybe it mono when it converted it.

1.) How do I determine if the .wmv has the voices separately or not?
2.) Can you recommend a good converter? (To my knowledge Audacity doesn't do that, correct?)
