Is there a way to do quick retakes?

You start to record a track and play a huge clam right at the start. Is there a one button way to erase that attempt and start recording again. In my old PC version of Logic it was a matter of hitting the record button again. It doesn't work that way in Audacity and I understand things I have to stop the take, remove the track, go back to the starting point and record again. All of which makes the frustration of a bad take only worse. I can't find such a feature and would really like it in Audacity.

Different button.
Many of us set a label (Control-B, maybe?) so we can find it later and then just keep rolling. It helps to keep the theatrical rhythm going. If you insist on stopping to collect your thoughts, press "P" to pause the recording. If you press Stop by accident, you can resume recording at the exact exit point with Append Recording (Shift-R).

Thanks, not exactly what I'd prefer, but workable.

There's a two click way:
1)
Ctrl+Z (undo)
2)
R (record)
If you want to append the recording to the end of an existing track:
Shift+R (or select "Append Record" from the "Transport" menu.)
