Audio "blips"
Is the latest Audacity version susceptible to "blips" during recording? Meaning--actual breaks in the recorded track that must be manually removed before finalizing the recorded material. Before I upgrade from my trusty 1.2.6 I'd like to know if this is still an issue. Thanks in advance.

Re: Audio "blips"
Yes, this was a constant problem -- on broken computers.
Audacity is a complete slave to whatever the computer is doing. If the computer sound services cannot keep up with the transmission or show, then it will produce holes or other damage and that's what Audacity will record.
You can take that upside down, too. You can run Audacity to see if your computer is up to live audio production. Audacity tends to use a lot of memory, computer speed and drive space. If any of those isn't up to the job, the show may be damaged.
If you're happy with your version 1.2.5, then you should keep using it, but it's not directly supported and we have to get somebody out of retirement that still remembers how to run it.
It's possible to install 2.0.3 and then go back to 1.2.5. Do you still have the installer? I think we have all the older installers here somewhere.

Re: Audio "blips"
Can't find the old installer. I recall upgrading a couple of years ago, disliking the upgrade and returning to the older version. If the blips are a computer issue rather than an Audacity one I may stay with this version. But just in case, how would I get the old installer? Thanks for your reply, btw.

If you are on Windows you don't want the 1.2.5 Koz suggested. The Windows 1.2.5 froze up after a few minutes of use and was replaced almost immediately by 1.2.6.
You can find legacy versions of Audacity here (underneath the downloads box):
