changing the pitch on a backing track
i have tried to change the pitch of a backing track with backing vocals the first time i did it it worked but i then tried a differant key and the backings now sound like pinky and perky no matter what i do||

You should be careful to get the right tool. Change Pitch does not change the length of the show but Change Speed does. Also, none of the tools work beyond one or two piano notes. Past that, voices always come out sounding strange.
Changing voices isn't a matter of pushing everything up or down. Glottles, plosives and resonances tend not to change between singers or speakers, but pitch does. Two different singers saying "SSSSS" will sound very much the same, but when they sing a note, they can be very different.
