The released Manual does not contain any translated pages. That is a policy decision that we took some years ago as it proved impossible to keep the translations up to date as the application and the attendant documentation changed. Translator folks get all keen and fired up to start with - but then lose interest and abandon it (It's hard, sometimes tedious, work - I know I am the current editor).

This is equally true of German/Deutsch. The alpha Manual for the upcoming 3.0.0 release actually contains a traslated German/Deutsch front page

But as you can see it has remained untouched, un-cared for, since Audacity 2.1.0 alpha.

There is an ednote (only visible to editors) from the then editor Gale Andrews (now sadly dead, RIP:

Gale 24Aug12: Please translate from the current front page, which has changed significantly.

So you can see that was 8 years ago

Since then the page layout has changed considerably and new links for new features have been added. Red dead links with no German translations. Also if you follow the live links you will observe that only some of the pages are translated making this a partial incomplete translation.

It's definitely not great, but that's all that's available for German user with little knowledge of English.
At least the section "Führung durch das Projektfenster", the German version of "Guide to the Audacity Project Window" is pretty useful, even with some of the links pointing to English pages.

My translation of https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/latency_test.html that I shared here https://www.audacity-forum.de/index.php ... stID=32621 should better be linked under "Anleitungen" on https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/De. It's available as PDF and DOCX and I would be willing to include my fixes once again into a wiki page if someone copies a Google translation into the wiki.

Most users will be using the current version of Audacity. I'd expect Google Translate (https://translate.google.com/translate? ... yteam.org/) to be more useful (despite problems with machine translation) than an out of date manual.

I disagree. Google Translate is not bad but often words have more than one meaning and in case Google Translate chooses the wrong one (or an other one than what was used in the UI) it turns out to be not understandable at all.

or, even better, let a German speaking person take a look at it.
Just one word there: GoogleTranslator translates "track" to "Titel". The correct term in the considered context (that is used by the Audacity UI) is "Spur".
There was not much that I had to correct to create Latenztest.pdf, but the changes that I made are essential to understand what is talked about.

And the 2.1.0 alpha manual is by far less outdated and more useful for the current version than the 1.2 or 1.3.x-beta manuals that are still listed.
