@SqueezeBoxer.
Please see my reply to you regarding the Manual and it's lack of translations in this email

I think it could be possible to provide some additional German information in the Wiki which you could write and curate if you were granted a Wiki account (I am an editor there but not an administrator, so I can't grant editor status) - but we we would need some assurances that this would be a long-term commitment and that you would continue to maintain the German Wiki pages.
Danke,
Peter,

Please let me get inn contact with the wiki admin(s). Passing my e-mail address to them is OK, sending me a private message would also work. Whatever is the easiest way. Thank you in advance.

Thank you. Alas no feedback by now.
Any progress with publishing a machine translated manual in the wiki and allowing (German) users to fix the translation?
I need to fix the translation of this
https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tut ... bbing.html and this
https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/latency_test.html

I wrote to the person that handles the accounts, but he doesn't think it's worth translating a few random pages of the manual because we can't publish it as a "German manual" with just a few pages. He's only really interested if someone has the time and commitment to translate something that we can publish, such as the
Audacity Tour Guide.

I'm disappointed. I offer help and he's not polite enough to send at least a personal answer.

Perhaps the wording of my email to him.
I didn't ask him to reply to you, I explained the help that you had offered and asked if he would open a wiki account for you. He asked me to reply to you, which was delayed due to Christmas. Apologies for the delay.

I'm new to Audacity and think it is a great project. Alas it is not easy to find German documentation. Most of what I could find is pretty incomplete or outdated. Some of my (German) fellow musicians are not so fluent in English, so I will have to write down some tipps & tricks for them. This might be useful also for other users so I would be willing to share it. How can I get write access to both the German and English wiki?
I can see requests for contribution in various places but it's not clearly specified what to do to get in contact!

I registered for the translation mailing list. What now?
I urgently needed the latency test tutorial
https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/latency_test.html in German for my fellow musicians. So I had it translated by GoogleTranslator and corrected the result. I shared it in the German forum
https://www.audacity-forum.de/index.php ... t-deutsch/ so that other users can benefit from my effort. It should better be placed in the German wiki.
