Macros in Audacity 2.3.0

Post by Trainer » Mon Nov 26, 2018 4:04 am

Greetings All

I would like to express my appreciation and thanks to the development team for the new Macros feature.

I used to use the old Chains function a lot. I do a lot of recording and editing for radio on audacity, and so the chains were excellent for my favourite presets (mostly voice processing recipes).

With the new Macros function, each macro command I create is now assignable to its own keyboard short cut. Wonderful!

So, now all my most used functions (this includes a range of preset combinations and standard editing commands) have their own short cut. One key stroke transforms my voice for full voice over; another keystroke soft limits my finished commercials to -1.8; one single keystroke boosts my voice for recorded DJ announcements; another single keystroke removes popping.

I have printed a list of my macro short cuts, and stuck it on the wall in front of me for easy access.

Thank you...my recording and editing work has just become two steps easier.

Keep up the good work

Thanks for that feedback Trainer.

I have let the developer responsible for the Macros upgrade (James Crook) know.

Thanks,

Peter
