I've recently recorded lots of old classic b/w films onto DVDs from TALKING PICTURES ON FREE-VIEW however some of the audio (well quiet a lot)is horrid. Are there any ways that AUDACITY could be used to HELP. :ugeek: PS-I've no problem with tapes & records.mickthefish

Audacity will extract ("rip") the audio from some videos if FFmpeg is installed into Audacity.
Then you will need video editing software to make a version of the video with the audio modified in Audacity,
e.g. Avidemux , see ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xS1zl_SMRbk
