A bug has been discovered in Audacity 2.2.1 which can cause data loss if you overwrite the project using "Save Project As..." (rather than the normal ""Save Project...")

This bug has been fixed in Audacity 2.2.2
It is highly recommended that all users update as soon as possible.

System Requirements:
  • Windows
Windows Vista or later. It is highly recommended that the computer is substantially higher specification than the minimums quoted by Microsoft.
  • Mac
OS X 10.6 and later and macOS 10.12 Sierra and 10.13 High Sierra.
  • Linux
We recommend using the latest version of GNU/Linux from your distribution that is compatible with your hardware.
Audacity will run best with at least 1GB RAM and a 2 GHz processor
