Audacity 2.2.1 not loading...

When I run it as root, it starts up, but when I run it as user it doesn't work. No terminal output.
Generally accepted Linux advice: "Do not run as root, ever."
If you need to make system changes, uses "sudo" or "su", then return to standard user permissions when you have completed the system changes.
What Linux distribution are you using?
Which version of Audacity, and how did you install it?
